Tyson’s Ships Riggers, which has been trading for over 35 years, has finished work on a significant expansion to its warehouse site in Grimsby.
The investment by the family-owned company has created 5 new jobs at the site, which has increased from 17,000 to 21,000 square metres, in order to keep up with storage requirements driven by increasing consumer demand.
Chris Tyson, Mooring’s director, said “The increased space created by the expansion of the warehouse will be invaluable to us. We will have more scope to store increased volumes of stock and ultimately fulfil customer demand more efficiently, effectively and in a more timely manner.”
Expansion delivers an exciting time for the business
Tyson’s managing director, Mark Tyson , said “We are delighted that this warehouse expansion is now complete – it is an exciting time for the business, allowing us to grow our capacity and extending our catchment area further to meet increased customer demand.”
The warehouse expansion will not only allow Tyson’s to continue to provide the highest levels of customer service, it will also ensure that more products are available on a next day basis. Mark continues: “Having the right width and depth of stock is imperative in our business. This expansion means that we now have hundreds of Rope products available for same or next day delivery and as a result we are able to provide exactly what our customers need, when they need it.”
Mark adds. “It’s a very competitive business, so we have to look for ways that give added value to purchasers.
As well as capacity for greater levels of stock, the extended warehouse incorporates a dedicated area for Wire Rope fabrication and an expanded Rope Splicing and packaging area. Mark concludes: “We are very excited about the warehouse extension as it will have a huge impact on the service that we are able to provide and we will have a greater degree of flexibility when meeting the needs of our customers.”
